Skrivhjälp
EOLEnd of life since October 3, 2026. Our first project, kept here for its lessons.
Why we retired Skrivhjälp
Skrivhjälp reached end of life on October 3, 2026. It was our first project, and building it taught us a lot. But it attracted very little traffic and arrived a few years too late. Continued maintenance no longer made sense, so we retired the service.
This page preserves the project story, screenshots, and build notes as a record of what we built and learned.
Why we built Skrivhjälp
Writing a formal Swedish letter — a job application cover letter, a complaint to a landlord, a serious email to a government office — is high-stakes, low-frequency work. Most people only do it a few times a year, and the cost of getting the tone wrong is real. The available tooling either presents a blank page (a regular email client) or requires the user to learn how to prompt an AI assistant. Neither helps the audience who needs the help most.
Skrivhjälp targeted the user who would never open an AI assistant themselves. Pick the situation from a guided list, fill in a few fields, see the finished text in a preview, and pay once for the result. No account, no subscription, no AI prompting. The Swedish output is done by an LLM under the hood, but the user never has to think about that — they're paying for help writing the letter, not for time on a model.

What it did
Pay per text
The service offered a one-time payment per finished letter. No subscription, no login, no recurring billing.
Preview before paying
Users could see the finished Swedish text before deciding to pay for it. The trust barrier sat on the right side of the transaction.
Multi-language input
Users could describe what they needed in their own language and receive formal Swedish text. The form supported several input languages — useful when Swedish wasn't the user's first language.
Build notes
- End of life. Kept as project history after a valuable first build, little traffic, and late timing.
- Migrated the project's workflow over to Agent Dashboard.
- Shipped multi-language input — Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian.
- First commit. MVP scaffolded in Codex over a long weekend.
